Receptive Field of a Complex Cell

Complex cells show superimposed on/off subregions. Also, the receptive fields of these cells do not have clear orientations. Nonetheless, they are extremely orientation selective, even though it is not easy to identify their preferred orientation preference. Complex cells represent the majority of cells in the cortex.
