Retinotopy

Cortical Representation Measured with 2-Deoxy-Glucose Retinotopy means that you can recognize the image as projected in the retina if we inspect the pattern of cortical activity in V1. There is an orderly representation (tonotopy) of neighboring points in the retina among neighboring neurons in V1. As you can see on the right figure, the right hemisphere is tonotopically organized in monkey's V1. The Simpsons' image shows how the image would be represented in the cortex, i.e., upside-down, reversed and magnified in the foveal region.
